SCHOOL PLANS & RESULTS REPORTS
Background
School planning and reporting are integral components of District planning and reporting. Schools plans should reflect the broad goals and objectives of the Board’s Strategic Plan.
Procedures
- All school plans must satisfy the requirements outlined in the District’s criteria for approval of school plans.
- School plans are to be developed in an open and collaborative manner in order to support student achievement.
- School plans will be subject to regular review and updating upon receipt and consideration of key data.
- The Principal must ensure that school plans and results reports are prepared in collaboration with staff, the Parents’ Advisory Council, and, where appropriate, students.
- School plans inclusive of results achieved, are to be updated and submitted in written form to the Superintendent annually.
- The school plan will serve as a key reference to guide school decisions regarding allocation of resources in support of student achievement.
- A full school plan will be created on a three year cycle. In intervening years a school plan update will be submitted to the Superintendent, including a report on student achievement to date in relation to goals in the current school plan.
- The Superintendent will provide support and feedback to the development of the school plans in order to ensure that schools focus on student achievement.
- A summary of school plans will be submitted by the Superintendent to the Board before December 31st in the year they are submitted to the Board.
- School plans must be made available to the parents of students attending that school and will be posted on the school website.
