Operational Planning

Overview

Planning is critical to ensure key operational outcomes are met both in the short and long term.  Key planning areas include risk management, the long range facilities plan, and the energy sustainability plan. Risk management ensures that key risks are monitored and understood in order to inform operating decisions, planning activities and resource allocation. A long range facilities plan guides decisions related to capital asset management and capital investment, and is informed by the educational and facilities objectives of the Board of Education and an understanding of longer term trends in enrolment, residential development, and other factors. The Energy Sustainability Plan (ESP) identifies the work and investments necessary to reduce energy consumption, and to meet greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets.
