The Saanich School District is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2023, the South Island Distance Education School (SIDES) has been chosen by the Ministry of Education & Child Care as one of 18 Provincial Online Learning Schools (POLS). The launch of Provincial Online Learning Schools is part of the Ministry of Education and Child Care’s work to improve equitable access to inclusive and effective online learning communities that are culturally relevant for all students.

SIDES will be now be able to continue offering outstanding online programming for Kindergarten to Grade 12 school-age and adult students across British Columbia to upgrade or add courses leading to graduation.
