This year, Sidney Elementary was selected as one of four schools in BC to be awarded the prestigious Indigo for the Love of Reading Foundation Grant. Sidney Elementary will be receiving $50,000 over the next three years to invest in books for the school. We are planning to use the grant to strengthen three areas: update the collection in the school library, build classroom libraries that support daily literacy instruction, and ensure the books in our school reflect our diverse student population.
