We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and support store operations. This role is vital in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers and maintaining smooth store functions.

Preference is given to those who identify as Indigenous and/or knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales and returns
• Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries
• Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments with accuracy and integrity
• Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
• Assist customers with pumping fuel as necessary
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
• Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
• Support in maintaining a clean and organized store environment

Requirements

• Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales preferred
• Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
• Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demos is a plus
• Supervising experience is desirable but not mandatory
• Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Knowledge of gas station and convenience store operations or familiarity with retail environments is advantageous
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $20.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
