Summer Tourism Outreach Team Member @ Sidney Business Improvement Association in Sidney
The Tourism Outreach Team Member plays a key role in delivering public-facing programs and providing exceptional visitor and community service. This team member is responsible for sharing accurate and engaging information with visitors and locals through face-to-face interactions at the Sidney Visitor Centre, as well as through roving outreach programs. Daily tasks include collaborating with volunteer visitor services counsellors, supporting outreach initiatives, and contributing to administrative projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome all visitors and residents in a professional, enthusiastic manner.
- Share accurate, current information about Sidney and the surrounding region.
- Log visitor interactions as part of Destination British Columbia’s statistics program.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming workspace.
- Assist with additional tasks and projects as required.
Qualifications
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- In-depth knowledge of local attractions, transportation options, and accommodations (Sidney, the Saanich Peninsula, Victoria, and Vancouver Island).
- Energetic, self-directed, and goal-oriented.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A passion for promoting local experiences and engaging with the public.
Training Provided
The successful candidate will receive comprehensive Visitor Information Counsellor training.
